Nature’s Bounty: Reykjavík, Iceland

Iceland. The most magical and beautiful place Mother Nature has ever created. Good job Mother Nature. *clapping hands*

People are extremely nice, lovely, and EVERYONE speaks English. But boy oh boy food in Iceland is very very very expensive.

Let me give you an example: A foot-long Subway sandwich is $15.00 and a chicken quesadilla at Taco Bell is $10.00.

Here’s an advice for travelers who would like to save money while in Iceland: Book an Airbnb (with a kitchen) and bring food from home that you can cook with. Personally, I brought instant noodles (because I love noodles) to eat. Booking with Airbnb instead of a hotel in Iceland is much cheaper. Trust me. Everything in Iceland is generally expensive so beware.

But Iceland will always hold a special place in my heart. Why? BECAUSE I GOT ENGAGED THERE!!! The love of my life asked me to marry him and I proudly said “yes”.

FUN FACT: Did you know that the Game of Thrones’ backdrop is based on Iceland?

During our stay in Iceland (Dec. 1-5), it was relatively warm, rainy, and cloudy with temperatures ranging from high 30s to low 40s degrees Fahrenheit. Beware, Icelandic weather is highly temperamental and bipolar. It’s like Iceland is constantly having mood swings (like a girl on her period).
