Black & White Greenery

Mosquitos. Gigantic flies. Flying bugs everywhere in Sula, Montana. I decided to spend 4th of July with family and apparently with bugs and mosquito bites too.

I visited Sula in the winter of 2016 and it was magical. There were blankets and blankets of fluffy white snow that covered trees, rooftops of log cabins, and the grooves and valleys of never-ending rolling hills. Time goes by. Seasons go by. My fiancé and I decided to visit Sula again in the summer. We did a week long road trip to Montana making stops at Salt Lake City, Utah and Las Vegas, Nevada with our mini Prius. We also made a stop at Island Park, Idaho to pay a visit to his extended family.

Don’t be fooled by the Prius. We only had to fill up the tank 3 times during our 1,170 mile long trip. Our total cost for gas one way? We only had to shell out approximately $53.00 for gas!

Driving by Montana felt like I was entering the scene of Twilight with Bella Swan and Edward Cullen in the woods. Words cannot explain how magical and majestical the atmosphere was. With a population of 61 people, one can only hear the chirping of birds, hustling of the winds, and the occasional howling of animals. Honking of cars, screaming children, and alerting sirens of ambulances are nearly non-existent. These pictures only paint a small picture of Sula’s beauty.

Aren’t these dogs adorable?! Meet Sophie (left) and Dora (right). These creatures are loving gentle giants but can be very protective with their owners. Not to mention, they also love their tickles, belly rubs, and cookies!

While LA has been hot and humid, Sula was hot and dry with temperatures ranging from mid 80s to 90 degrees Fahrenheit. Nights at Sula were cold (low 40s degrees Fahrenheit). I wanted to wear comfortable clothes that could easily transition from day to night and while preventing bugs from biting me. In order to accentuate the greenery of trees and compliment the organic shapes of Nature’s wilderness, I decided to keep a neutral palette (black and white). I decided to pair the outfit with comfortable sneakers and a green sweater (which also functions as a shield from mosquito bites and large ants crawling on my feet) as temperature starts to drop.

Hopefully I can visit Sula in the fall and witness the changing colors of leaves. Just imagine the different shades of oranges, reds, yellows, and occasional greens of leaves! Hope you guys enjoyed the post!
